Community Involvement and Sponsorships

LJ Hooker is a big advocate of community based marketing, our 3 offices of Toronto, Rathmines and Wangi Wangi have played an active role in our local community for many years. We have a proud past of helping others at a local level, raising funds for a variety of causes.

 

We lend Mr Hooker Bear to community and charity groups, rally around local events, and donate our time and efforts to numerous neighbourhood causes.

 

LJ Hooker also gets involved in local community sponsorships each year, which includes supporting local sports clubs, annual fetes and fairs, primary and secondary schools, social clubs, as well as exhibitions and trade shows for local businesses. 

 

With a long history of supporting our community, LJ Hooker takes pride in the many ways we give back - whether it's across the street or across the world. With LJ Hooker, our mandate is to continue our efforts supporting:

 

Charitable activities - such as our longstanding and ongoing financial support for Cystic Fibrosis Research at a local and National level.

 

Emergency response - rallying immediately to raise funds for incidents such as the tsunami in Indonesia and the Victorian bushfires.

 

Community involvement - looking after our local neighbourhood areas, whether we're staffing a site at the Catalina Festival, Carols On The Lake or raising funds at local school fetes.

 

Social responsibility actions - We sponsor 8 local schools with The Act of Kindness Program.

Our history of helping others

Our contributions have made a real difference to many, including:

  • Over $3.5 million raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Research Fund over a 12-year "Partnership in Caring" as part of the LJ Hooker network.
  • Act of Kindness Program - We sponsor (8) local schools with established relationships in the school community
  • 'R and R' Club - Partnering with local businesses
  • Community Events - Catalina Festival, Carols on The Lake
  • Cystic Fibrosis Unit - John Hunter Hospital
  • Mr Hooker Bear attends many local community events such as School Fete's and assemblies, Catalina Festival, Cystic Fibrosis Christmas Party, Toronto Church Fete.

Mr Hooker Bear

Mr Hooker Bear is the international LJ Hooker mascot and is most commonly seen at community events. Mr Hooker Bear has been part of the LJ Hooker family since 1998 after he was first created for a series of road safety television commercials. Due to his popularity he has since been accredited with his own merchandise range.

 

Mr Hooker Bear makes appearances at schools, store openings and products launches, community festivals and charity events.

 

We offer the Mr Hooker Bear suit free of charge to local schools, community groups and businesses for community events and activities.
